CoramBAAF is the successor to BAAF (British Association for Adoption and Fostering). It is a member organisation dedicated to improving outcomes for children and young people in care by supporting the agencies and professionals who work with them, primarily in the UK but also internationally. CoramBAAF is part of the Coram group, is accountable to its own Board of Directors, and operates independently to support and represent our members, champion best practice, and provide high quality and authoritative information through our services, publications and training events.

Coram was established by Royal Charter in 1739, as the UK’s first children’s charity. We have been transforming lives for over 275 years. Today, we help around one million children each year. We are based on a green and distinctive three-acre campus a short walk away from King’s Cross and Russell Square.

The Coram group helps children to feel safe, loved and protected from harm. We help children to lead healthier lives. We support children’s education and learning. We build the skills children need to succeed now, and in the future. We protect the legal rights of children when these are in danger of being ignored and strengthen families to help children thrive.

CoramBAAF’s Policy, Research & Development (PRD) team consists of consultants who specialise in family placement from an interdisciplinary perspective including social work, legal, health, research and minority ethnic issues. It also includes the co-ordination and delivery of an information service.

We are seeking an assistant to provide administrative support to our team and consultants and to co-ordinate and make arrangements for Advisory Committees, Special Interest Groups, projects and meetings and to take minutes at those meetings, as required. More details are included in the job description for the role.
