Come and meet us at our reception for agency members – Friday 14 September
CoramBAAF welcomes agency members to our annual free reception on Friday 14 September at the Coram Campus, London, 10.45am – 3.15pm (arrivals from 10.15am).
There are still some places available!
This popular event provides the opportunity for members, CoramBAAF staff and guest speakers to share views on the most pressing issues facing family placement services including the fostering system, RAA development, special guardianship and more.
Abve all, the aim is to generate discussion that will help shape how we continue to support our members.
This year we feature an early opportunity to discuss Fostering Better Outcomes, the government’s response to the fostering reviews, with a member of the DfE’s policy team.
- Emma Balmforth, Policy Adviser, Children in Care and Permanence, Department for Education (DfE) – Fostering Better Outcomes
- Sarah Johal, One Adoption, West Yorkshire – Setting up an RAA.
Shorter presentations from the chairs and members of CoramBAAF’s advisory committees and groups will cover a wide range of current issues including social work practice, special guardianship, family placement research, and the black workers’ forums, with time for questions and discussion. Presenters include: Carole Sykes, East Sussex; Derek Kirton, University of Kent; Elaine Dibben, CoramBAAF; and Bernadette Cains, Concurrency Planning Service and Shanti Davis, Sheffield City Council.
Please note that places are limited and are restricted to one person per agency / local authority and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
The event will count towards continuing professional development (CPD) for social work practitioners and certificates of attendance will be available.
