The Adoption and Children (Coronavirus) (Amendment) Regulations 2020 were introduced on 24th April and have significant implications for family placement work in England. CoramBAAF have produced a summary of the changes, and the full regulations can be found here.

There is previous Department for Education guidance on coronavirus and vulnerable children and young people [updated 1 April 2020] and guidance for local authorities on children’s social care [updated 3 April 2020].

CoramBAAF have produced documents that we hope will be helpful to practitioners delivering services in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic:

Practitioners should also be aware of the guidance from DBS that sets out some temporary changes to identification checking guidelines which includes fast-tracking emergency checks of the Adults’ and Children’s Barred Lists as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.

Children and Families Across Borders (CFAB) has issued guidance on obtaining overseas assessments during coronavirus

Other detailed guidance is provided on this website in the sections on fosteringadoption, and family and friends.
