Kinship Care and Story Work: Learning from each other

This webinar is the second in the series of 40th anniversary celebration events and it focuses on life story work in the context of kinship care. It is a FREE EVENT AVAILABLE TO MEMBERS ONLY.

Over the past 40 years we have sought to promote best practice in child placement through collaboration, practice wisdom, research knowledge and the voices of children and families. Those key elements are core to our story and we take them forward with our work in kinship. Stories shape our sense of identity – personal, familial, professional and communal. The field of kinship care (practice, law, policy and research) have become central to our work at CoramBAAF and an important part of our future story.

In this webinar we explore the direct use of story work with kinship families and young people. We consider the key concepts underpinning approaches, the challenges and the opportunities that arise when we use story work. Case discussion will be used to explore theory and practice. We hope that this online platform will enable a wide engagement. It will be of particular interest to practitioners working in the field of kinship.
