Applicants will need to evidence the following:

• A recognised social work qualification and current HCPC registration, supported by substantial experience in the field of adoption, fostering and/or child placement.
• At least four years’ experience of working with children and families within a social services context and specifically with looked after children.
• An understanding of the regulatory framework within which Adoption and Fostering panels operate.
• A commitment to valuing diversity and promoting equality in relation to issues of ethnicity, religion, gender, disability and sexuality.
• Experience in chairing large meetings which present complex issues

The successful candidate will have the enthusiasm, commitment and skills to be able to prepare for and chair panel meetings, ensuring the active participation of all panel members. The candidate will also assist our panel advisor in the appointment, professional development and review of Panel members.
