The role of Service Lead - Together for Adoption is an important one. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop a new and innovative service to provide the best possible outcomes for children waiting to be adopted and potential adoptive families.
We are looking for an outstanding, dynamic and engaging candidate to shape and lead Together for Adoption, a regional adoption service. With a proven track record at leadership level in children's social care you will join a fantastic organisation that has huge ambitions and a track record of delivery.
We therefore need an innovative and inspirational leader who is adept at working in partnership to achieve the best possible outcomes for our children and their families.
Wigan, Cheshire West & Chester, Warrington, St Helens and Halton are working in partnership and have formed Together for Adoption, a Regional Adoption Agency as part of the government's regionalising adoption program. Wigan is the host authority for this agency, with Cheshire West & Chester having a lead commissioner role.
Wigan Council has been voted ‘Council of the Year’ at the 2019 LGC Awards and has recently published The Deal 2030, our ambitious plan for our borough. We are signed up to the Greater Manchester Continuous Service Commitment ensuring that your service will be continuous or 'unbroken' between the supporting organisations.
