You will be an experienced Social Worker, perhaps with senior experience, and will come with a passion for this work and an understanding of adoption, permanence, and Special Guardianship work. Knowledge of intercountry adoption and experience of special guardianship cases with an overseas element is a distinct advantage although not essential. The Advisor will work closely as part of an expert team and be responsible for delivering the excellent service that IAC is known for. Part of the role will entail researching countries, eligibility requirements and global trends and research in adoption & permanence work. Support and training will be available. IAC is an outstanding adoption agency, and we are looking for an outstanding candidate to join our workforce.

IAC is continually growing and evolving and so this post would suit someone looking to move to the charitable sector and further their career in adoption & permanence services. IAC will continue to work remotely, and on average this post will involve one or two office days, and three days from home.

IAC is committed to having a workforce that reflects the diversity of the children and families whom we serve, so for these reasons on this occasion we particularly welcome applications from people of Black African, Black Caribbean and Asian heritage, as well as other groups who may be classed as Minority Ethnic. We also welcome applicants from members of the LGBTQ+ community and Men. IAC is currently undertaking an external governance and values review to ensure we remain at the forefront of being committed to issues of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

All applicants must be registered with Social Work England, be legally able to work in the UK and have relevant post qualifying experience in Children and Families work and Adoption Services.
