Annual Kinship Conference 2026: Delivering better support for kinship families: research and policy in action
We are delighted to invite you to this year’s CoramBAAF Kinship Care Conference. Book now to join us on 12 October 2026 at Coram Campus, 41 Brunswick Square, London, WC1N 1AZ.
The kinship care conference is a key event in the calendar of social work practitioners working with kinship families.
With a focus on developing better support for kinship families, our programme focuses on bringing together researchers, sector organisations, carers, young people, and practitioners to network, discuss and explore how local authorities can continue to build support for kinship families in their area.
The day will create a supportive and collaborative learning experience to empower social work practitioners. Attendees will leave with knowledge, practical tools, and new connections to confidently take the next steps in developing support for kinship families
Presenters (with more to be confirmed):
- Dr Jahnine Davis, National Kinship Ambassador
- Felicity Thomas, University of Exeter
- Dr Paul Shuttleworth, University of Kingston
- Gabriela Petchey, Kinship care senior policy advisor, Department for Education
- Law Commission
Why attend?
This is CoramBAAF’s third kinship conference for those working in kinship care. This year’s conference will focus on support for kinship families and you will hear from kinship carers, young people with experience of kinship care, researchers and those driving policy change as we reflect on the changing landscape of kinship support. You will also have the opportunity to talk to three local authorities as they share their promising practice.
