CoramBAAF Annual Health Conference

Safe in Care or in Harm’s Way? Recognising and Responding to Risks to Keep Children in Care Safe

THEME

We are excited to announce our Annual Health Conference will take place on Monday 26 June 2023, in-person at Coram Campus, (QEII Conference Centre) in London, from 9.30am to 4.30pm. A key event for all Health Professionals working with adoption and fostering agencies. Further details about the day and full programme to follow.

Our Annual Health Conference provides an opportunity for health professionals who work with care experienced children and young people to come together to discuss current issues and share practice.

We will consider recent child safeguarding practice reviews that have particular relevance, and reflect on recommendations and how any learning is influencing practice.

We will explore the links between experiencing adversity and trauma and the consequential impact on vulnerability and potential safeguarding issues.

The day will include a practical element, discussing the implications and actions required when new safeguarding concerns arise whist children are in care, and thinking about how health assessments offer an opportunity to consider risk and vulnerability.
