National Adoption Week 2025 | ‘A Welcome Home’

  • Date:

National Adoption Week (UK) is an annual campaign held every October to raise awareness about adoption, celebrate adoptive families, and encourage more people to consider adoption. This year National Adoption Week runs from 20 - 26 October.

The theme this year is 'A Welcome Home’. Hosted by You Can Adopt the campaign celebrates 'perfectly imperfect' family homes built through adoption, and aims to inspire more people to consider adoption by showing that children don't need perfection - what matters most is a warm, welcoming place to call home.

You Can Adopt have co-created resources with adoptive families to bring to life what ‘home’ really means for an adopted child. These families, along with many others from across the country, feature in a social media campaign showing that, like all parenting, adoption can be messy and challenging, but also deeply joyful and rewarding.

In support of National Adoption Week, CoramBAAF’s Adoption Consultant Jane Poore recorded a podcast episode with Alistair, a single adoptive parent and Panel Chair to talk about the adoption process, adoption support and his experiences as Panel Chair. The episode will be published later this week so sign up to our newsletters to be notified as soon as it’s live!
