The Law Commission's Kinship Care Consultation
The Law Commission’s kinship care team invite local authorities and social workers who work with kinship families to join us on 3 September 2026 for an online consultation event as part of our kinship care consultation.
Our provisional proposals for reform of the law governing kinship care can be found in our consultation paper, which is available on the project webpage, and include
- A new Kinship Care Order for kinship carers
- Kinship parental responsibility agreements
Please sign up here and join us online from 4pm to 6pm on Thursday, 3 September 2026 via Microsoft Teams to hear about our provisional proposals, share your views, and ask any questions you may have. Joining instructions will be sent closer to the event.
