The Government have announced that there will be changes to the Adoption and Special Guardianship Support Fund. Whilst the commitment to sustain the fund for 2025-26 is welcome, it is disappointing to see that as more children are coming forward, their access is being further limited. We are concerned about the impact on the children and families affected but we also worry about the effect this will have on services that are already struggling to meet the existing demand.

An introduction to neurodiversity in adoption, fostering and kinship care

Let's acknowledge and celebrate difference. Understand neurodiversity as a natural variation to ‘the norm’ rather than as something that is disordered, dysfunctional or deficient. This training is an introduction to aspects of neurodiversity including autism, dyslexia and ADHD. We will give you an overview of the topic to increase your knowledge and develop your confidence in the subject.
