Independent Social Worker

Central Bedfordshire Council use a hybrid approach to fostering assessments, with assessment sessions taking place virtually and in person (there would be a minimum requirement of four face-to-face home visits). 

Assessors are needed to complete fostering assessments. You will be required to work with applicants to complete the assessments and present the assessments to fostering panel or provide witness testimony at Court.

You will be supported by an assessment team manager throughout the process. The timescale for completion and presentation to panel is six months, including QA period. Completion dates will be discussed on allocation.

Interviews will be informal, though you will need to demonstrate you have the necessary knowledge, skills and experience to complete analytic, evidence-based reports. You will also need to provide references, DBS, relevant qualifications and up to date registration information, as well as further personal information in line with Safer Recruitment policy.
