Family Futures is a not for profit, independent adoption and fostering agency in London, rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in 2022 for the fourth consecutive time. We have a reputation for innovation and offer a high quality service - an integrated multi-disciplinary, assessment, treatment and family-finding service for children who are traumatised or have attachment difficulties.
We are looking to recruit a Senior Supervising Social Worker to join our team. Family Futures Adoption Service is unique in that it is a multi-disciplinary team approach to parent assessment and child placement. We specialise in placing children who are three years of age or older. We are able to offer a robust multi-disciplinary post placement support package which is rooted in attachment and trauma-based research and theory. The assessing social worker throughout the assessment and placement process, co-works with other disciplines to ensure a holistic assessment and post placement programme that addresses developmental trauma and the challenges that parents/carers face.
We are looking for someone:
• who has three years post qualifying experience as a social worker with
some experience in the field of adoption and/or fostering.
• who is parent-positive and child friendly.
• who wishes to develop their therapeutic skills in working with parents
and families.
• who would enjoy working as part of an integrated team.
This is an exciting and challenging role and a wonderful opportunity for someone who wants to be part of a team of professionals who are helping place traumatised children based on the most recent neuro-scientific research evidence.
Family Futures offers high-quality supervision and professional development training. We also offer a nurturing environment for staff to work in as we recognise that this is a stressful area of work.

Therefore, we welcome applications from candidates from a wide range of lived experience and are actively recruiting people from the global majority, i.e. Black, Asian, dual heritage and minority ethnic groups as they are currently under-represented at our organisation.
We offer excellent staff development opportunities and a highly nurturing environment. We are an equal opportunities employer and committed to creating an inclusive and diverse workforce. We encourage applications from suitably qualified applicants regardless of age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief and marriage and civil partnerships.
Family Futures is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. The organisation follows safer recruitment practices to protect children and adults at risk of harm and will require the successful applicant to undertake an enhanced DBS disclosure.
Family Futures is a menopause friendly employer.
