This course will enable participants to increase their understanding of the role of permanence in children's lives. By reflecting on best practice, it will help those attending to form permanence plans that are geared to improving the outcomes for children and young people, including their emotional, cognitive and physical development.

By the end of the day participants will have:
- Increased understanding of the concept of permanence in the context of care planning and meeting children’s needs
- Become more familiar with the legal context of permanence planning

- Explored ways to engage children and their families in the planning process
- Developed your ability to create plans for children and young people based on individual needs
- Developed your skills in the use of child centred practice, and focus continuously on the child’s journey to permanence and into adulthood
