Learning from Research Webinar: Constructing Opportunities - Recognising resilience in people living with HIV in the adoption process

This webinar will be delivered by Dr Tam Cane is a Lecturer and Course Convenor for BA Social Work in the Department of Social Work and Social Care at the University of Sussex. Dr Tam Cane's research focuses on HIV prevention modalities linked to parenting choices that reduce HIV transmission. She is interested in HIV-related infertility, assisted reproductive health, child adoption, and decision-making processes around adoption assessments.
Dr Tam Cane has authored several peer-reviewed articles, including experiences of people living with HIV pursuing adoption, the role of HIV third sector in supporting people living with HIV seeking reproductive treatment and child adoption, and resilience in people living with HIV in the adoption process. Recent work includes understanding women's help-seeking for problematic and unhealthy alcohol use, and anti-racist practice. Dr Tam Cane holds a position on the editorial board for the International Journal of HIV/AIDS Prevention, Education and Behavioural Science and is a Guest Editor for a special issue on HIV in the Journal of Practice Teaching and Learning.
