We are looking for independent assessing social workers to undertake Form F assessments. This is a hybrid working role and you will assess prospective foster carers using a combination of video calling and face-to-face visits before making a recommendation of their fostering suitability. Our foster panels are usually held virtually. 

Interview’s for the role will be informal, though you will need to demonstrate you have the necessary knowledge, skills and experience to complete analytic, evidence-based reports. You will also need to provide references and further personal information in line with Safer Recruitment policy. 

There is a requirement to undertake at least 3 home visits in person, but  other assessment sessions can be completed virtually as part of a blended approach. 

You will be supported by an assessment manager throughout the process and Stage 1 checks are undertaken by admin support, apart from referee interviews. Fostering applicants are also provided with a workbook which supports evidence gathering for the assessor. 

The timescale for completion and presentation to panel is six months, which includes a one-month QA process. 
 

To undertake the role, you will need the following : -

*To be a qualified and registered social worker
*Experience of foster care and family placement work and be trained in assessment
*An enhanced DBS
*Knowledge of relevant childcare legislation
*Ability to work flexibly, with a degree of autonomy, within the agency’s policies and procedures.
*A positive and flexible attitude.
*A commitment to and knowledge and understanding of Equal Opportunities and Anti-Discriminatory Practice.
*Ability to make effective use of supervision and consultation.
*IT literate in Word.
*Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
