Practice Note 56. Paperless fostering and adoption panels

In various office settings over recent decades, there has been a general move away from using and holding data on paper and towards a grater use of digital technology. Fostering services and adoption agencies are not exempt from this change, and increasingly panels are embracing a paperless approach. The feedback from panels that have moved in this direction is broadly positive, although it is acknowledged that the initial change can present challenges. There are strong arguments to suggest that the move to paperless panels is inevitable, and this Practice Note looks at some of the issues involved in such a move.
