This 12 month fixed term maternity cover post is based in the Recruitment and Assessment Team and managed by the Early Permanence Manager. The post holder will be joining a dynamic and progressive team where children are at the centre of everything we do. The role involves assessing applicants for their suitability as adoptive parents and Early Permanence carers and to support families through the different stages of the adoption process until an Adoption Order is granted. Independent Fostering Panel Chair A rare opportunity has arisen to join Buckinghamshire Council’s Fostering Panel as the Independent Panel Chair. The post holder would become part of an experienced, professional and friendly Panel central list who are child-focused and passionate about their role in the safe placement of children and young people who are looked after by Buckinghamshire Council. The Panel is also very ably supported by an experienced and efficient Panel Business Support Officer, and Panel Advisor.

Social Worker or Senior Social Worker, Adoption team We support children and families from diverse backgrounds. With access to our specialist therapeutic support services, we are proud to provide excellent lifetime support for our families’ adoption journeys. Our adoption teams focus on assessing prospective adopters who can consider early permanence and/or adopting a wide range of children of all ages, sibling groups of two or more children, children from diverse ethnicities and children who may have physical or learning disabilities. With social work experience with children and families, the postholder will manage all aspects of work with our valued applicants from the early stages of recruitment, information sharing meetings, assessment, preparation and training, through to successful placement and post placement support up to the making of the adoption order. Parents And Children Together Salary range for Social Worker: £19,145 to £23,399 pro-rata per annum (FTE £31,483 to £38,479). Senior Social Worker: £22,090 to £26,999 (FTE £36,326 to £44,399). A regional allowance of £2,006 pro-rata per annum is also payable (£3,299 FTE). Based in Vauxhall, London with hybrid flexible working arrangements Fixed term appointment to end of November 2024, part time 22.5 hours per week
Independent Fostering Panel Member
Independent Fostering Panel Member Our Fostering Panel membership consists of a range of people who have personal or professional experience relevant to fostering. 
We are looking for a Social Worker with at least 3 years relevant post qualifying experience in child care social work, including direct experience of fostering either within a fostering service or in placing and supervising children in foster care. The post holder must be registered with Social Work England and demonstrate an understanding of current legislation, policy and good practice in relation to fostering matters. We are also interested in candidates who are care experienced; those with experience of being a foster carer for family and friends (Kinship/ Connected foster carers) and those with experience or background within the Police, Education and Health.
Rutland County Council 150 per panel + mileage per panel attended ‘In person’ panels are held at Rutland County Council, Catmose, Oakham, LE15 6HP Panels are currently held once monthly (Monday) and are a combination of ‘in person’ panels and virtual panels using Microsoft Teams; therefore applicant/s must have appropriate IT equipment and a good internet connection.

The post holder should be an experienced Foster Parent, Panel Member or Vice Chair, with an appreciation or lived experience of Foster Care. The post holder should have an understanding of what should be offered by Foster Carers under the Fostering Standards; Fostering National Minimum Standards and Fostering Regulations.
