Changes to NHS England have been announced in an attempt to improve health services. In these reforms it is vital that the needs of vulnerable children, children in care and adopted children, are not forgotten.
The Child Permanence Report (CPR) plays a crucial role in helping adoption agencies plan a child's future. As part of their legal rights, adopted adults are entitled to access the full, unredacted document. Jane Poore, our Adoption Consultant, shares everything you need to know about the launch of the new CPR - including briefing sessions, training and more.
The concept of adultification is where notions of innocence and vulnerability are not afforded to certain children. This is determined by people and institutions who hold power over children and young people. When adultification occurs outside of the home it is always founded within discrimination and bias. There are various contexts of adultification, all relate to a child’s personal characteristics, socio-economic influences and lived experiences. Regardless of the context in which adultification takes place, the impact results in children’s rights being either diminished or overlooked.
