Exploring Expertise: Post Commencement access to Information and Intermediary Services
Accessing information through adoption records and intermediary services can play a vital role in helping people address the lifelong impact of adoption. Adopted people may use these services as they seek to address unresolved losses, make sense of the past, and fill in gaps in their identity. This webinar will consider the framework for providing information and intermediary support services to adopted adults and those affected by their adoption. It will focus primarily on the legal framework applying to adoptions made on or after 30 December 2005 (Post Commencement adoptions) enabling practitioners to consider the practice issues when providing information from the adoption record.
The reference source material will be the Adoption: Access to Information and Intermediary Services Practice Guide published by Adoption England, delivered by the guide's co-author, Leonie Jordan.
