Social Worker - Fostering The postholder will be required to provide effective and high quality social work practice and undertake tasks related to the recruitment, assessment, support, supervision and training of foster carers in accordance with legislation, guidance and good practice so as to appropriately meet the needs of looked after children and young people and support them to reach their full potential. Given that we are a small service there is scope for creativity and opportunities to undertake direct work with the children and young people.

Panel Chair
Panel Chair Plymouth is looking to recruit a Panel Chair to its Fostering Panel which currently meets twice monthly on Thursdays. The postholder will have a sound understanding of the fostering process, with the authority and competence to chair complex meetings. The postholder will also be expected to participate in regular Panel training, meet regularly with the Agency Decision Maker and work closely with the Agency Advisor to conduct annual appraisals of Panel members and to encourage good communication between the agency and Panel. Plymouth LA All inclusive sum per Panel and further remuneration, to cover all additional duties, such as appraisals of Panel members. Children and Families Support Worker (Early Permanence Project) The Children and Families Support Worker role is a key post in an innovative two-year early permanence project in partnership with Adopt South. We are looking for someone with a good knowledge of adoption and/or fostering acquired through a personal, professional or voluntary capacity. The post holder will be confident and experienced in providing exemplary support to families. The post holder will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to listen and communicate effectively with service users and external agencies, alongside an empathetic and supportive approach.
