Chester and Daisy move on

£9.95

Chester and Daisy live happily with Mummy and Daddy. But then things start going wrong, and Chester and Daisy can’t live at home any longer. A social worker takes them to stay with a foster family.

Now the social worker has something important to tell Chester and Daisy – they are going to be adopted. But there’s a lot to think about, and to explain, and to do, before the two bears can move on.

The story encourages children to compare their own stories with that of the bears, and will help them to explore feelings about their past and their moves.

Reviews

This book is very clear and easy to read; it encourages children to parallel their own experiences with Chester and Daisy’s and thus share their feelings about moving away from their birth families to their adoptive families, It is particularly helpful for children who have had to struggle with their ‘muddled up’ feelings. I think this book will also help foster carers and adoptive families to see, form the child’s perspectives, some of the issues that emerge.

Julie Welburn, Adoption UK

As a foster carer with two young children who were moving to adoption, I found this book an invaluable tool in helping to prepare the children for their move. They really engaged with the characters, and were quick to draw on the similarity of the story, and their lives. Great book.
