Form K (Wales) is published just over a year after the publication of Form K (England). We have worked very closely with colleagues at AFKA Cymru and piloted Form K (Wales) in seven Welsh local authorities to test its fit for Welsh law, culture and language. Form K (Wales) is available in both Welsh and English.

Investigating Officer for Stage 2 and Stage 3 statutory Children Act complaints We are seeking additional experienced Associate Independent Investigating Officers (IO) for Complaints, to increase our capacity to respond to referrals from Local Authorities to provide an independent element to the formal Stage 2 investigations under the Children Act 1989. The postholder will lead investigations, and will give the complainant (who may be a child, young person or adult) the opportunity to express their view, ensure the child or young person’s rights and best interests are at the centre of the investigation and that the investigation/review process is open and transparent. Head of Legal Aid and Billing
Head of Legal Aid and Billing The Head of Legal Aid and Billing will provide leadership and management for CCLC particularly focused on the Legal Practice Unit’s legal aid billing operations. Through systematic and efficient management, the post-holder will play a pivotal role in CCLC’s financial and operational sustainability. The role will be accountable for maximising the unit’s legal aid billing in controlled work, certificated work and inter partes costs and will hold responsibility for the unit’s billing systems. It will also be responsible for private fees billing. The post-holder will oversee the smooth running of legal aid billing including through line management of the billing team. Senior Billing Officer and Coordinator The Senior Billing Officer will coordinate, oversee and supervise the Legal Practice Unit’s legal aid billing operations. Through systematic and efficient management, the post-holder will play an important role in CCLC’s financial and operational sustainability. Working with the Managing Director of Legal Practice, the Heads of Department and Coram’s central finance team, the key objective of the role is to help maximise the unit’s legal aid billing in controlled work, certificated work and inter partes costs. IRM Legal Advisor (Casual)
IRM Legal Advisor (Casual) As an IRM Legal Adviser the postholder will providing written legal advice to caseworkers, panel members and the Contract Manager about individual applications and well as ad hoc advice on occasions. Legal Advisers provide on average 2 pieces of advice weekly and are paid at an hourly rate claimed each month. Legal Advisers also need to be available by phone for advice, should it be required, for the IRM panel meetings which are held on various days each week of the month according to the demands of the service. New guidance on support planning for Kinship families published

CoramBAAF are pleased to co-author a much needed and helpful guide for practitioners on support planning with kinship families. The guidance was informed by research co-produced by the University of Exeter, Kinship and a network of kinship carers who supported the project throughout. The guidance sets out the key principle that “a clear support plan is an important foundation for kinship care”.
