Independent Fostering Panel Chair Milton Keynes City Council is currently developing its Fostering Service and is seeking an experienced Chair for its Fostering Panel. On average the Panel meets every three weeks, although additional panels are occasionally scheduled. Meetings are currently virtual however this may change to include some face-to-face sessions. As Chair the post holder will ensure that all items of business are covered and ensure that the Panel operates in accordance with regulations, policies and procedures. The post holder will read papers carefully, identify key issues, work with an adviser to help ensure cases are adequate for submission, and facilitate the active participation of all members as the Panel considers cases and makes clear and well evidenced recommendations. Adoption and Fostering Panel Administrator We have a great opportunity for a self-motivated and highly organised individual to play a key role in in providing administration to our adoption service. The post holder will be part of a small team of administrators working closely alongside the Panel Adviser to administer the joint adoption and fostering panel. Within this role, the post holder will have opportunities to support the regional and voluntary adoption agency, co-ordinate panel processes from pre panel bookings, minutes and post panel actions, ensuring panel data and documentation is accurate. The post holder should have excellent communication, IT and minute taking skills, with the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a larger team. Experience of maintaining administrative systems, completing accurate minutes and meeting competing deadlines is essential. As a voluntary adoption agency, we work mostly in London and Home Counties and in partnership with ten local authorities to deliver the Coram Ambitious for Adoption regional adoption agency. We are seeking to recruit experienced freelance Social Workers to assess applicants for their suitability as adoptive parents and Early Permanence carers. You must be able to take work in London and the surrounding counties. Applicants must be self-motivated, able to work to deadlines and be flexible in meeting the needs of the applicants and the agency. Substantial experience in adoption work is essential. The post holder will be joining a dynamic and progressive team where children are at the centre of everything we do. The role involves assessing applicants for their suitability as adoptive parents and Early Permanence carers and to support families through the different stages of the adoption process until an Adoption Order is granted. The post holder would become part of an experienced, professional and friendly Panel central list who are child-focused and passionate about their role in the safe placement of children and young people who are looked after by Buckinghamshire Council.
