CoramBAAF welcomes the publication of the Public Law Working Group adoption sub-group report. It contains a wealth of recommendations aimed at supporting the continued modernisation and adaptation of the adoption process.

Team Manager (Post Approval Team) We're looking for a passionate, dynamic leader to join us as the Post Approval Adoption Team Manager and make a real difference in the lives of children and families as they move through their adoption journey. This is an exciting opportunity to manage a small but vibrant team of senior practitioners and support staff, helping to deliver high quality intercountry adoption services while working alongside a dedicated leadership team. With supporting adopters as they prepare for their match or providing ongoing support after adoption orders are granted, the postholder will play a key role in shaping the future for these families. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about adoption, and motivated to support families to best meet the needs of the children they adopt. The postholder will have a strong background in social work specialising in adoption and some experience in managing staff and bring a deep commitment to providing exceptional care and support. Coram IAC £45,000 - £48,500 per annum Cockfosters Office until January 2025 and then moving to Coram Campus Bloomsbury with home working 35 hours per week

Birth mothers’ experiences of having children in kinship care

In October, Pause published a paper highlighting the experiences of birth mothers who have children placed in kinship care. It draws on their learnings from working with over 1,800 birth mothers over the past decade, as well as in-depth conversations with a group of four women who have children placed in kinship care.

Head of Practice
Head of Practice The Fostering Network is the UK’s leading fostering charity and membership organisation, dedicated to empowering, enriching and supporting the relationships at the heart of the fostering community. We are on the lookout for an experienced social worker to lead our Practice function. The Head of Practice will provide leadership and oversight of the day to day operations of the Practice Team, including the key services of Advice and Mediation, Training and Practice Consultancy Services. The postholder will be a proactive, effective communicator, with excellent interpersonal skills, who doesn’t mind getting into operational detail. As an experienced fostering manager the postholder will bring sound knowledge of fostering legislation and guidance and a range of experiences across fostering practice. The Fostering Network £47,000-£52,000 + London Weighting if eligible Can be based in any of our four offices (London, Belfast, Cardiff, Glasgow) or from home.
