Fostering Panel Vice Chair The postholder will deputise for the Panel Chair in their absence and carry out all the functions of the Chair’s role as and when required. The postholder will prepare for the Panel meetings, reading papers carefully, identifying key issues & alerting the professional adviser to the Panel, if necessary, that the cases are good enough for submission to the Panel. The postholder will participate in the Panel meetings contributing to clear and well evidenced recommendations, with reasons.

Fostering Panel Members The postholder will read the circulated papers carefully before the meeting and to attend the meeting prepared to raise issues and to contribute to the panel discussion. The postholder will take responsibility for participating in the making of a recommendation, on each case, drawing on both personal and professional knowledge and experience. The postholder will attend at least 75 per cent of the Panel Meetings and to be prepared to attend additional Panels, if possible, if requested. The postholder will participate, with other Panel Members, in advising on policy and procedural matters as required.
