Learning from Research: Family experiences of Family Group Conferences

Coram’s Impact and Evaluation team have been working with Family Rights Group and Lorna Stabler from Cardiff University to explore what barriers and enablers impact family access to Family Group Conferencing (FGC) in England. They spoke to professionals from six local authorities and their FGC services, as well as parents and carers who had been offered FGC in these six areas. They also conducted a national survey of FGC services to learn about their offering and the families using their service.

This includes providing reports and evidence-based comments so that panels can reach appropriate decisions. This course is designed to support medical advisers in their role. It is particularly suitable for new or inexperienced medical advisers.

There have been longstanding concerns about the risk of offending for children in care. This research study investigates the characteristics and pathways of looked after children and the risk and protective factors that may reduce the risk of offending and promote resilience.
