A new open course which aims to challenge your understanding of the meaning of diversity and intersectionality. This training will be a highly interactive exploration of equality, diversity and inclusion.

The purpose of this open course is to give participants an opportunity to consider what good practice in assessing adult relationships is, exploring their own values and assumptions and to consider the importance of attachment styles; motivation; sex and sexuality; and loss and infertility.

Based on the very latest guidance and research, this workshop will explore the issues and dilemmas faced by decision makers in adoption and fostering agencies and provide useful templates for self-audit and future decision making.

The Dennis Duckling series of picture books provides a range of opportunities to talk to looked after children about what is happening in their lives. In the first two books, Dennis and his little sister have to leave their parents and be looked after by a foster duck family. In this third book, the outcome for the ducklings is for them to go home to their parents.

Panel advisors have a complex role in managing the relationship between the agency and the panel, quality assuring and feeding back to all involved in panel work. This open course will enable panel advisors to examine this role in detail and build on effective practice as they carry out their role and responsibilities including: quality assurance; inducting new panel members; contributing to the appraisals of panel members; feeding back issues to the agency and working with the agency decision maker.
